WHY THIS PROGRAM EXISTS

I built the first ready years track for my own A+ son

I built the first ready years track for my own A+ son

His report card looks fantastic. I'm still putting him through this program.

His report card looks fantastic. I'm still putting him through this program.

Lucas is my son. He's an A+ math student. He works hard. His teacher is great.

But I'm a high school math teacher, and I know exactly what's coming. I can see the things a strong middle school mark does not show.

His teacher spent the year teaching great math. What I kept waiting for was the learning system. Most middle school classrooms simply do not have the time or structure to teach it directly.

The kids who arrive in Grade 9 with strong marks and no learning system are often the ones whose confidence breaks first. Suddenly they have to learn new math, at a faster pace, and how to study at the same time.

Lucas doesn't need more math. He needs to learn math using a system. So I built the one I want him carrying into high school.

I built the first Ready Years track for him. Now that same system carries through Grades 6, 7, and 8, because every middle school student should have the chance to build these skills before high school.

WHAT REPORT CARDS AREN'T TELLING YOU

The mark isn't lying to you. It's just answering a different Question.

The mark isn't lying to you. It's just answering a different Question.

Your child's report card tells you how they're doing in this class. It doesn't tell you whether they're ready for what's coming.

  • Digest a lesson

  • Doing Level 4 Homework with minimal help

  • Knowing how to study without cramming

Middle school math measures familiarity. High school math demands mastery.

"Fine" can be accurate and still be incomplete.

WHAT THE REPORT CARD CAN'T SHOW

Ontario's middle school math system wasn't designed with grade 9 in mind.

Ontario's middle school math system wasn't designed with grade 9 in mind.

The challenge is visibility. A report card can look completely fine while important foundations and learning habits are still developing underneath the mark.

  • Some strands may not get enough depth.

With a lot of material to cover, essential strands, algebra especially, can get rushed, skimmed, or skipped without a parent ever seeing it on a report card.

❌ The learning system is rarely taught directly.

How to digest a lesson, take useful notes, do homework with intention, correct mistakes, and study for a test often gets assumed instead of taught.

❌ The pace changes, and the runway gets shorter.

Middle school revisits concepts over years. High school compresses the pace, introduces new learning quickly, and leaves less room to self-correct once a weak foundation starts showing.

MEET THE READY YEARS

This isn't tutoring. It's verification, with a learning system built in.

This isn't tutoring. It's verification, with a learning system built in.

A simple 3-step system, grade-specific math support, and a plan built around what your child needs next.

The Ready Years is a 15-session live online small-group program with separate tracks for Grades 6, 7, and 8. The structure stays consistent, while the curriculum and readiness goals change with your child's grade.

Verify the math foundation

We verify the essential strands for your child's current grade and connect them to what comes next. If something was rushed, skimmed, or missed, we catch it early. Your instructor is actively monitoring comprehension throughout the program and will reach out to you directly if something needs attention. Faster than a report card would.

Install the 3-step CHT system

Content → Homework → Test. Students learn how to understand a lesson, practise with intention, correct mistakes, and prepare for a test using a repeatable process.

Build next-level readiness

The earlier the system becomes familiar, the less your child has to figure out all at once later. Each track prepares them for the next grade while steadily building toward the pace and independence high school expects.

A PATTERN I'VE WATCHED FOR YEARS

I've taught high school math for years. Patterns are my love language. But this one? I want to smash to pieces.

Let me tell you about a Grade 8 student I keep seeing show up in Grade 9.

A few years ago I had a student. Grade 8, 90s the whole way through. Grade 9? Her marks dropped to the 60s within a semester.

Her Grade 8 work had been watered down. Her parents saw it happening and tried to raise it, but nothing changed. By the time high school hit, the gap was already showing up under pressure.

She's not the only one. I keep watching versions of this student walk into Grade 9 with strong marks, weak foundations, no learning system, and confidence that takes the hit.

That pattern is one of the reasons Ready Years exists. We want to catch the gap while it is still small enough to fix calmly.

Today's math gap is next year's wall.

Good news: at this age, all of it is fixable. It takes one calm hour a week in the window where mistakes are still low pressure and there is time to build.

ONE PROGRAM. THREE GRADE-SPECIFIC TRACKS.

Choose the Ready Years track that matches where your child is now.

The learning system stays consistent across all three tracks. The math, pacing, and next-step preparation change with the grade.

Build the foundation early.

Strengthen the Grade 6 must-haves, introduce the habits behind independent learning, and start bridging into Grade 7 before the workload gets heavier.

Strengthen before the final middle school year.

Verify Grade 7 foundations, tighten the learning system, and prepare students to enter Grade 8 with fewer weak spots following them forward.

Prepare for the high school jump.

Close the remaining foundation issues, strengthen independent study habits, and practise the kind of pace and ownership students will need in Grade 9.

WHO THIS IS FOR

The Ready Years is a strong fit if...

  • Your child is in Grade 6, 7, or 8, whether they're doing well, finding some areas harder, or somewhere in between.

  • You have ever wondered, "I'm not 100% sure they're ready for what's coming."

  • Your child has strong marks, but you cannot see whether every important strand or learning habit is actually in place.

  • You want support that feels calm and practical, not like an enrichment pressure cooker.

  • You would rather verify readiness now than discover missing foundations for the first time when the pace gets faster.

Don't just let them get by. Help them get ready.

Danielle's Promise

TRY THE FIRST WEEK. STOP ANY TIME.

Here's what I know after years of teaching: when the math is solid and the method is in place, "I'm bad at math" stops being a true sentence. Kids walk in with evidence, not just confidence. My own kid is in this. I couldn't find it, so I built it.

But every family is different. So here's the deal: $87 today secures your child's spot. After registration, tuition is $40 per live session for the 15-session program.

Not working? Email us. We'll stop the next charge and refund* any unused tuition. No paperwork, no hard feelings.

*Registration is non-refundable. It covers admin and setup.

Frequently asked questions

When are the cohorts?

Fall runs 15 weekly sessions from October to January. Spring runs 15 weekly sessions from February to June. Summer runs the same 15 sessions over 7 weeks in an accelerated format.

For Fall, we're choosing between Saturdays and Sundays. Families select the windows that work at checkout. If a group does not have enough students, Zen Math reaches out with alternate options or a refund.

Grade 6 and Grade 7 sessions run at the same time. Grade 8 does not run in October and opens in April.

Why isn't the time set yet?

Because this is the founding Fall cohort, the schedule is being built around real families. Families check off every window that could work, Zen Math chooses the hour with the widest overlap, and the final time is confirmed before orientation on September 30.

If the final time does not work for a family, their registration is refunded in full.

What if my child misses a session?

Every session is recorded and uploaded to the student portal. They catch up on their own time, and a 1:1 session is always available on request.

Is this for kids who are struggling, or kids who are doing well?

Both, and they get different things out of it.

A student who's been struggling gets the chance to close the issue while it's still manageable. We go back, find what's shaky, and rebuild it properly.

A student with strong marks gets something they may never have been taught directly: how to learn. Right now they're getting by on quick recall and a good memory. That works until Grade 10, when the volume goes up and the content stops being obvious. They need real study habits before they need them.

Same Ready Years system. Different grade track. Different starting point. Two very different wins.

My child has straight A's. Do they really need this?

That's exactly why Danielle built it, for her own straight-A son. A's in middle school don't measure whether your child can study independently, decode a lesson, or handle the pace of Grade 9. This program installs those skills while there's time and no pressure.

How is this different from Kumon or Spirit of Math?

Those programs run on repetition and volume. Ours runs on attention.

Homework is marked by a teacher every week with individual feedback on your child's real work.

In session, we watch closely for the kid who looks fine but isn't quite there yet, and we flag it early rather than waiting for a test to reveal it.

And we're not just teaching math. We're teaching kids how to learn it. How to study it, organize it, correct it, and check their own work. Those are the habits that carry into high school, long after the worksheets stop.

Calm, curriculum-based, and close enough to actually catch things. That's the difference.

Is this tutoring?

No. It's verification and training. We verify your child has the math foundation Grade 9 will demand, and we install the learning system that makes high school manageable. Think of it as a home inspection before the purchase, not a contractor after the flood.

What if it isn't the right fit for my child?

You commit to a session. If it's not working, email us and we'll stop the next charge and refund any unused tuition. The $87 registration fee is non-refundable, since it covers admin and setup costs.

Will this clash with their other activities?

One hour a week, online, fully recorded. The Fall time is being set around founding families, so families can share which windows work. If a week gets away from them, the session is in the portal that night and a 1:1 is available to catch up.

What if I'm not sure about a group format?

Totally fair. Here's what makes this flexible: if your child starts in the group and it's not the right fit, they can transition to 1:1 tutoring sessions at any point — same curriculum, same system, just one-on-one. And before making that switch, most families find it's more cost-effective to stay in the group and supplement with a few 1:1 sessions as needed. You have options — and none of them require starting over.

What if my child is already behind in a specific area?

Tell us which one. If it's covered in the program — and most foundational strands are — we'll flag it for your child's instructor to watch closely when homework is assigned. If we feel they need an extra session or two to solidify it, we'll add one. Your instructor is constantly verifying comprehension throughout the program and will reach out to you directly if something's getting missed. That's the verification part — in action.
